Pixels Sticker Pack

For all of you pixel loving people, I’ve created a sticker pack just for you!

Starting with over 30 different stickers, and a little animation thrown in as well, there’s bound to be ones you’ll enjoy. Not to mention that this is the initial amount, and I very much plan on adding loads more to this collection.

You can get Pixels from the App Store, and I hope you have fun sending these cool stickers to your friends!

If you have any queries, or even sticker requests, then you can contact my on twitter or by email.

iMore on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Rene Ritchie along with Serenity Caldwell, has put together a quick video review of the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

When Serenity Caldwell and I took a look at how we wanted to shoot our iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus review video, we new we couldn’t just spout the specs in a room or street set. We had to take to the streets. So, we took the iPhones 7 out and shot with the new wide angle and telephoto cameras, tested the new water resistance, abused the better battery efficiency, tried out the new Home button, and otherwise put them both through their paces and then some — on the streets of New York City!

I don’t really ever get around to reading long reviews, so this video was perfect.

If there’s one iPhone review you’re going to watch, make sure it’s this one. Either watch it below, or follow this link to YouTube.

Weekly Column

I’m starting something new, again.

I’ve always wanted to do a regular piece of writing, be it on a tech blog, magazine, or anything where I can cover a specific piece of news or opinion. But opportunities for this don’t come around very often, so I thought why not just start it myself?

So I’m going to now try and write one piece every week (separate to this blog), and share it via an email newsletter.

It’s all powered by TinyLetter, and I love how everything is very minimal, and focuses on plain content. I don’t want to create more junk for your inbox, so hopefully a small email every week will suffice.

I haven’t got any guidelines for myself yet, but I will aim to keep it around 500 words.

It would be awesome if you subscribed, I will get writing the first column and it will go out every Friday for your weekend reading.

You can subscribe using the form below, or by going to the TinyLetter page.

A Personal Page

For years I’ve had many differently named blogs, but never somewhere personal. Well, a while ago I got the domain chrishannah.me, which was designed to be the sort of landing page for everything me.

I only just got around to sorting it out today, and it will serve as central place for everyone to find out where I am on the web.

You can have a look if you’re interested.

P.S. The background image was taken by myself.

Evernote in the Cloud

My friend Elliot Clowes on Evernote:

As I type this Evernote is on my second monitor to my left. It’s been there all day during which it’s been referred and added to many times. I live in Evernote. But despite that I don’t love it. In fact it seems during the eight years I’ve been using it, I like it less and less each year.

I used to be a big Evernote user myself, with it providing the note-taking infrastructure for my first two years of university. I have since moved on because of problems similar to what Elliot talks about.

But with their recent move to Google Cloud Platform, he has a few good pointers for how they could really improve Evernote as a product and service.

You can read the full post on his blog, I’m Left Handed.

Tesla's Radar Eyes

Elon Musk writing on the Tesla blog:

Taking this one step further, a Tesla will also be able to bounce the radar signal under a vehicle in front – using the radar pulse signature and photon time of flight to distinguish the signal – and still brake even when trailing a car that is opaque to both vision and radar. The car in front might hit the UFO in dense fog, but the Tesla will not.

As you can probably guess, this is an article about the latest update to the Tesla’s Autopilot system. They’re doing some cool things with the radar, and I always find it interesting to see what they’re up to (Even if I don’t even own any car).

Timelapse

A while ago, I was experimenting with my (very) old DSLR in my garden, paired with a pretty cool application – DSLR Assistant. I decided I wanted to check out time-lapses, especially trying to capture one at night.

Well, I was just on Vimeo, and I noticed that it was the only ever video I have uploaded!

So if you’re interested in seeing how it turned out, then the video is below. The whole timespan of the images was about 75 minutes, and it was taken with a Canon EOS 1000D with a cheap 50mm prime lens.

Also, I’m starting to get very interested in videos, more specifically creating them. So you may see more small experimental creations from me soon.

AppleEvents for Mac

Guilherme Rambo has done it again with yet another great Mac app, this time it's AppleEvents and as you may of guessed, it lets you watch all of the past events, and also stream live events.

He previously developed apps such as PodcastMenu, putting Overcast in your menu Bar, or even the unofficial WWDC app for Mac, which let’s you watch, download, favourite, any of the WWDC talks!

Anyway, AppleEvents is the newest addition, and it’s such a simple app but it fits it’s purpose superbly. You can catch up with the old events, but my favourite part of it is that you can stream live events. Such as the announcement tomorrow!

If you’ve got to do some work at the same time, or maybe you like to have Twitter and the live stream open, then luckily for you it has Picture-in-Picture! Which even works on El Capitan. Just press the green icon in the top-left corner (usually the fullscreen button).

I’ll definitely be using this, and for the foreseeable future as well!

Seeing as Guilherme is constantly releasing these open-source and free Mac apps for everyone, it’s only fair that he get’s compensated in some way!

So why don’t you check out his apps on the Mac App Store?
